Sometimes, when you have an idea for a parody, someone else will beat you to it. In those cases, you go back to the well.

This is one of those cases.

This is a new studio recording of a song originally done by my old college band Insane Ian & Crotch, that I wrote TWENTY YEARS AGO.

I've always had an obsession with fast food (see, "It's Burgertime" wasn't the first), and I wrote a song about what it would be like to work at the biggest fast food joint of them all (like all my friends did, tho, truthfully, I did not myself), set to the 90's alt-rock anthem "Santa Monica (Watch the World Die)" by Everclear. I've updated the lyrics a bit from the originally version to comment on some of their newer marketing "strategies". Special thanks to Bonecage for the musical help.

I am still dreamin' of those...fries!
Hungry and hollow as our crusty apple pies
Maybe I should try on part time
I don't wanna be on fry detail anymore
I'll walk right out of this place today
Insane Ian will have it his own weird way
What's the deal with the Hamburgler?
Why's he now look like an Ambercrombie model anyway?
How's he so thin after this place?
Don't get me started on the Happy Meal box with a face

But I'm stuck at McDonald's

Throw out moldy buns
